Southern Minnesota Onsite Sawmill Service

We convert logs to lumber. All of our work is completed on site starting from the fallen tree. The sawmill is pulled to the job site and quickly setup. After sizing and preparing the logs, we move the logs into position with a logging arch. Logs up to 34" in diameter and weighting more than 1000 lbs can be easily moved without damaging lawns or landscaping. After the log is placed on the mill and squared to a cant, the lumber production begins. The rough sawn lumber is then stacked for drying; after the lumber is dried a single pass through a surface planer is usually enough to finish the wood.

Below is a promotional YouTube video provided by Woodmizer. The sawmill and the process of milling lumber shown in the video is similar to how we mill lumber onsite. Woodmizer produces excellent sawmills and is the manufacturer of the mill used by Run Of The Mill.

Our service is low impact, quick and efficient. When we are finished you are left a cleaned area and with a load of neatly stacked, drying lumber. In a typical day we can cut 1000 square feet (board feet) of lumber or more; the exact production varies by species of the wood, size of the logs, and amount of owner help. We can also advise you how to get the most of the logs and trees you have.

Our rates are reasonable. We charge by the hour plus blade charges. There are no setup fees; our travel fees are $1/mile roundtip from Mankato,MN and no hidden costs. Small to medium sized jobs are welcome with a 2 hour minimum. Your total cost for a stacked load of lumber is usually less than one half of what is charged by tree services. Our hardwood lumber and services pricebook lists all of our current pricing.

Sizing your job will help to give you a rough estimate of how much wood you'll get from your trees and how long it'll take to mill the logs to lumber.
